Forensic Evaluations
Psychiatric Associates of Atlanta provides forensic psychiatric evaluations, consultations, and expert witness testimony in civil and criminal cases including: the insanity defense and criminal responsibility, competency to stand trial, capital sentencing, and mitigation. Drs. Lipsig and Norman also conduct workplace violence assessments and/or Fitness for Duty evaluations.
From 2002 until 2011, Psychiatric Associates of Atlanta provided psychiatric services at the Atlanta City Detention Center and can consult on medicolegal issues involving correctional psychiatry.
Dr. Lipsig and Dr. Norman have specific expertise in conducting independent medical evaluations, including disability, employment discrimination, Workers' Compensation, and personal psychiatric injury evaluations. Both psychiatrists have experience conducting medical record reviews in psychiatric malpractice and standard of care cases. Additionally, both Drs. Lipsig and Norman have experience with testamentary capacity (competency to make a will) and various other civil competency evaluations.
Dr. Lipsig and Dr. Norman are Board Certified in General and Forensic Psychiatry and are willing to discuss any of the above issues in setting up an evaluation.
For publicly funded cases, both Dr. Lipsig and Dr. Norman provide services on a modified fee schedule. Please contact our office for that fee schedule.
All fees are set independently by each physician.
